"Outstanding food, great staff and service - and as everyone has said, the chef will make anything you like or even suggest making something for you off the menu. Great homemade gelatos for dessert, but the best crabcakes (all crab, no cake) and veal (huge portion - tender/perfect) are the best I've had in a VERY long time. Unconditionally recommended."

"Very accomodating, great for big groups. Chef is very eager to cook anything not on the regular menu. I suggest requesting the Carbonara. Reasonable pricing and great service. Will definitely be back. "

"This is a new restaurant open only five months. The food is excellent; service is excellent; the bar is a little small. The owner/chef visited our table and was truly interested in how our meal was and any suggestions we had. We will be back soon for another excellent meal. "

Order Anything You Can Think of at Fabio Piccolo Fiore
“If you live or work on East 44th Street, it’s very likely that you’ve already been treated to the gracious hospitality of Fabio Hakill and Nick Nubile, owners of the new Italian restaurant Fabio Piccolo Fiore, which opens officially today. To ingratiate themselves to the neighborhood and work out the inevitable pre-opening kinks, chef Fabio served complimentary lunches and dinners all last week, putting his jacketed captains and polished waiters through their truffled-risotto-spooning paces. After serving a ten-year stint at Corona’s legendary Park Side, Hakill, a half-Sicilian, half-Egyptian native of Rome, hopes to make as many fans in midtown Manhattan as he did in the Queens dining room where he met Nubile, the contractor who would become his business partner…”
"You can take that as a challenge. Or you can just order off the streamlined menu, which, like the red-walled room itself, seems a bit fancier, a bit more northern Italian than the red-sauce-centric Park Side. But if your heart’s set on tomato sauce or something parmigiana, Hakill isn’t about to turn you down."

Celebrity Treatment
"Fabio's was recommended to my husband and myself by Barry at the UN Millineum hotel on one of our monthly trips to New York. The concierge made our reservation for 1:15pm on a Saturday, however when we arrived we noticed that the restaurant did not open until 4pm. We noticed that the door was open and went in anyway to maybe check for a later time. Fabio himself was sitting at the bar and asked if we were the couple the hotel had just call over for? We said yes and asked if he was actually open. Fabio was great and said he did not open until 4pm but he would cook for us. That he would treat us just as if we had come to his home. Needless to say he prepared one of the most outstanding meals we've had ever. His wine suggestion was superb, the rosemary olive oil and artisan balsamic vinegar (his personal stock not normally served on the regular menu) was out of this world, the salad was to die for, the Chilean sea bass was perfect and the rosemary and cactus pear Gelato was unbeliveable. Each course was beautifully plated as well. We chatted between Fabio preparing each course and ironically receivd suggestions on our trip to Italy in February as Fabio is from Rome. We will definately make Fabio's our place on our monthly sojourns to the big apple. A jewel in the city. Chia...ci vidiamo!!"

Looking forward to going again
"Upon someone's recommendation, decided to take a party of eight out to dinner at this restaurant. Was somewhat hesitant at first, considering some of my guests are restaurant connoiseurs, but I couldn't have made a better choice. The food and service was absolutely wonderful. The chef/owner, Fabio came out and introduced himself and suggested that we have his various homemade gelato. What a treat and wonderful way to end off the meal. The best part. The prices are quite affordable for the quality of food that was served. Will definitely be going back."
